The High Efficiency Small Format (HESF) Hospital creates an opportunity to simultaneously respond to market demands while establishing a chassis allowing flexible future expansions while enjoying uninterrupted hospital services.

The model uses simple structural modules to set the overall concepts. Each treatment space is based on standard care models allowing for adaptability. Flexibility comes with the standard structural module and by placing all engineering support services above the treatment floors. We are able to achieve maximum efficiencies which lowers staffing costs.

It may begin as an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) with a clinic and a few operating rooms. Over time it can grow to a full inpatient facility by modifying the clinic into an emergency department and adding any additional operating rooms that may be required.

Its modular planning allows for clear expansion direction while maintaining uninterrupted hospital operations.  Through this work we have concluded this model will deliver a facility that is 15% to 25% smaller in area that a typical hospital requiring approximately 10% less staff.
