The current Covid-19 pandemic has illustrated the shortcomings of the healthcare system.   Providers were not prepared for the influx of infected patients, were not prepared for government mandated elimination of elective procedures and did not understand that patients would be fearful of accessing healthcare services for fear of being infected.

Many creative, innovative solutions have been proposed to address the immediate issues. However, many of them are not sustainable.
